Deckchairs

I am working on illustrating the latest children's book for an author friend, we are then going to collaborate on a Nuggleton By The Sea children's book....at last!  I am so excited to have the help as I haven't had time to write it and it will be lovely to get it off the back burner.

In between doing the work on John Leneghan's book, I have been relaxing by tweaking the acrylic I am doing of deckchairs, I am loving the contrast between the metallic gold of the beach and the blues of the sky and sea.

Castle

Sorry that I don't get to put a post on here as often as I would like.  Dave and I are preparing to take down our old conservatory and have a new extension built that will have a studio, office, dining area and sitting area overlooking the garden, so I am in the process of trying to paint whilst packing up everything!

I have completed the castle and boats picture for a birthday present, for my first attempt at a reflection I was quite pleased with it:

I am doing illustrations for a book cover and pages inside and I also have a commission for hand embellished Wedding Day print:

I love being a busy bee though and I have several oil paintings and acrylics on the go too!  I will put photos of those on soon.

Cosmic Purple

A new direction in oils that I love doing alongside Nuggleton watercolours, it allows me more freedom and expression of textures:

Blown Away

'Blown Away' is nearly finished now and I am quite pleased with the quirkiness of it:

I am setting up a print run of 'Dusk' and enquiries for this and any other work can be made through nuggletonart@gmail.com

Walking Day is now on sale at GallerySales.co.uk and '50's Garage' is on sale with The Acorn Gallery, Pocklington.

Tuesday 4 February 2014

Painting is on go slow at the moment as so many other things in life are going on, but I have realised that something needed adding to the foreground of 'Walking Day' and I am much happier with it now, so this should be finished in the next week or so.

50's Garage has now had the print run set up with a smaller edition size of 25 and No 1 print is already sold.  It is now at Cobra Frames having the original mounted and framed and some prints mounted ready to be sent to The Acorn Gallery in Pocklington, to be displayed for sale there.

Still having fun with acrylics and oils on the side and I have all my projects for the year mapped out now.

Just working on the harbour wall on blown away and then I can work on the sea splashing up it.

'Fifties Garage' has now gone to the printers for a print run to be set up and then it will go to The Acorn Gallery in Pocklington to go on sale there.  The first two prints out of 25 have now been sold and I really enjoyed doing something with so much nostalgia, so I hope there is something for everyone in it, it's a big piece and will look good displayed at the gallery alongside 'Riverside'.

I am still working with acrylics and oils and this is another enjoyable piece to do which now has a home when it is finished.
